Nelson Saavedra Jr. (b. 1993 Miami, FL) is an artist, video-maker, motion graphics artist, and animator based in Providence, RI. He is known for his love of bright colors, dedication to solve any given problem, and his obsession with pop sensation Britney Spears. Nelson became a devoted artist at a very early age, often becoming infatuated with animated and video game characters and wanting to replicate them. He is especially inspired by Studio Ghibli films, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the animation/storytelling that goes into building certain video games.This eventually evolved into a love visual storytelling, eventually leading to his degree in Film/Animation/Video from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2016. He approaches most projects as problems that need solving which informs his creative work in a uniquely analytical way. Nelson is especially driven to stories and visual mediums that remind him of his Cuban heritage and queer latino experience, often incorporating bold colors, concise visuals, and some unique flare into his work.
